    Ok I just found it.
    Go to google and type in “Effects of alfa-hydroxy-isocaproic acid” without the quotes.
    Look for the link with the PDF for a full published paper.

    Do these supplements work? According to this study they probably do..but..for how long? Under which conditions? Is it a one time thing?….but again..so many variables

    @AtoZyzzyva They were all supervised with their nutrition. The study carried on for 4 weeks. There was another one with the same test done for 15 football players. It also showed slightly higher increases in LBM in those who were supplementing with it. The problems I have with the studies is…A – They each only have 15 people. B – It only carries on for 4 weeks.

    @Raedwulfiggie
    Were their diets all controlled in this test? Were they all similar weight and height? Do they all have the same bodytype? Were they all doing the same training? If the answer to any of those questions is “no” or “I don’t know” then it is not a great study that can be used to back up this product.

    @BROSQUEE1

    I agree with nearly everything these guys say..they’re upfront..straightforward..no bullshit.. I don’t even disagree with what they are saying here..it’s just..do the prices of these products justify any potential gains? Even if you managed to get an extra half pound over the course of a year..does that justify these supplements? Well….the thing is..how can you REALLY tell if they are working? You’d need strictly supervised trials with ridiculous variables taken into consideration

    I just read three clinical studies on HICA (alpha-hydroxy-isocaproic acid). They were controlled studies of athletes (runners, strength trainers) and found that against the placebo (maltodextrin) the supplementation of HICA increased lean body mass by 400-600g(in 4 weeks) as opposed to the placebo null-100g LBM increase. Will it help put on some muscle? I don’t know..according to these controlled studies it should do just that…so I’m going to get some, and do a review myself.

    @YuckyMucky15 i think you should try it man, lui actualy takes his supplements before he reviews them, these guys just make assumptions. on the forums and shit it says that you dont need to take as much protein and dont have as much soreness, if it does half of what they say it does its a decent product

    First off, your just another couple of loud mouth ignorant brothas., Lookin like Milli Vanilli stun doubles. I have tried many suppliments, ONLY SO I CAN HAVE AN ACCURATE OPION ON IT’S EFFECTIVENESS. Suppliment companies use steroid build bodybuilders to promote their products to increase sales, and I can tell you FROM EXPERIENCE, “If you want steroid like gains, you need to take steroids”. I have used HICAmax and it has eliminated all soreness the 2day period after intense weight training.
